Paridhi condoles the demise of  legendary singer-composer Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. He was a multifaceted genius: a good poet; music composer; singer; actor; journalist; author and film-maker of the very highest repute.

Dr.Hazarika was the recipient ofIndia’s third highest civilian awardPadma Bhushan,India’s highest award in cinema Dadasaheb Phalke Award andAssam’s Man of the Year besides Sangeet Natak Academy Award and others.

Hazarika has been known to create a great impression on both Assamese and Indian cinema, literature and music.

He produced, directed, composed music and sang for Assamese films Era Barat Sur, Shakuntala, Pratidhwani and Lotighoti. He also composed music for several outstanding Bengali films.

Dr. Hazare died of multiple organ failure at a Mumbai hospital on Saturday (November 5, 2011).
